I have loved horses all my life and learned to ride them at a very young age. When I was about 10 my friend and I wet to a house down the street that had horses and ponies and over the next few years I rode them every chance I got. I collect the Breyer Horses and stuffed animals as well as pictures and pins. You can say that I am horse crazy. I have had ponies of my own growing up and then I gave it all up to marry a great man. We have had 3 super kids and now that they are grown I found that it was time to follow my dream. I have always wanted to belong to a group that shows horses and performes on them and my long time friend helped me with that. She got me involved with the IWHBA (Intermountain Wild Horse and Burro Advisors) and thier drill team the Aces Wild All Mustang Drill Team. I have been with them for 2 years now and got my first mustang in February of o8. I have never been happier except when my kids were born. My husband was not happy at first but he has slowly come around. I love him so much for letting me be a part of this group.

Mustangs
When I was first introduced to the world of Mustangs I did not know how much I would enjoy these wonderful animals. I knew about Mustangs but always thought that they were not good for anything because they were a wild horse. Boy was I wrong. A very good friend of mine introduced me to a group of people who are involved with Mustangs and I am learning a lot from them. I joined their group which is the Intermountain Wild Horse and Burro Advisers or IWHBA and through them I joined the Aces Wild All Mustang Drill Team. I have learned just how useful these wonderful horses are. You can do anything with them that you would with a domestic horse.I have seen them do endurance, English Dressage, English Jumping, everything. What and
amazing and versatile horse they are.Once you have bonded with a mustang it is an amazing partnership. the first year I was with the IWHBA and Drill Team I rode a horse named Brownie who was owned by someone else but I had a lot of fun with him. Then in 2008 he was not available anymore because of him moving with his owner so I had to find another mustang if I wanted to still be an active part of the team. I would have to find one of my own. Enter Rosa: I looked at several mustangs that were broke (or so I was told) through Utah Animal Adoption and found Rosa. I looked at her on a cold February morning with a friend and she came right up to the fence and let me scratch her face and she in turn gave me a kiss. I knew then that she was the one I was looking for even before I had a chance to ride her. I had a dream about her that night but her name was My Desert Rose and not Rosa and so when she came home with me the next week I changed her name. We have had out ups and downs but as time had gone by we have more ups than downs. We both have had to learn to accept each other and to trust each other. When I got her she was not a relaxed and trusting horse. She has had several issues that we have been working on like walking into a trailer and being tied to a post the is not open. She has had some improvement and I look forward to more exciting times with her. We did out first
performance on may 9Th, 2008 in front of some elementary school children and Rose did wonderful. I look forward to doing more with her and riding her in parades. She has to learn to relax while on the roads and letting cars go past her while we are walking down them, She is going to be my drill team horse and parade horse as well as my riding horse. So far this has been an exciting learning experience. I hope to continue to learn and grow as a member of the IWHBA and Drill Team. I owe a very big thank you to my best and special friend Lori Fredrickson for introducing me to these wonderful animals and the people who work with them. Also thank you to Cliff and Janet Tipton and Vicki Green and everyone else on the team for helping me gain a better understanding of the mustang. If not for these wonderful people and animals I would still being the Dark Ages about Mustangs.
